Volcanic Eruption Viewed from Space Station

This footage, obtained by the International Space Station, provides a unique view of Sarychev Volcano (Kuril Islands, northeast of Japan) in the early stages of an eruption on June 12, 2009. To download a large still photo or the movie from the NASA Earth Observatory Website, CLICK HERE. The site also provides a detailed description of the photo and discusses theories about the interesting clouds.

Hommocks Earth Science Department Resources

The Hommocks Middle School (Larchmont, NY) Earth Science Department has put together an impressive collection of resources to help students prepare for the the New York Regents Earth Science Exam. I especially like the animations. Here are a couple good ones that I found on their site.
